Just Listed: Meet Pamela from Inspired by Felicity

"Inspired By Felicity, LLC" was started by Pamela Looney. Pamela was one of those lucky people who landed her dream job right out of college, working for a small banking corporation as a Marketing Director.  After the birth of Pamela's daughter, Felicity, she had a very hard time going back to work and felt she needed to be home with her daughter.  So Pamela and her husband took a leap of faith that they would be able to make it financially with Pamela not working and she left her career to become a full-time stay-at-home-mom.  With extra time and a desire to bring in her own income, Pamela decided to turn her hobby of creating children's accessories into a business.  Pamela has always had a deep love of all things vintage and whimsical and decided to create unique, high quality accessories that were trendy and modern, while having a bit of a vintage feel to them.  What had originally started as a hobby five years ago has now turned into a quickly growing company, with plans for a large expansion this year.

Girls Weekend: 2 Pregos, College BFFs, & a Baby

I've been meaning to write a post about my girls weekend trip to Dallas to see my two best friends in college. We all met up in Dallas, which was great. It was the first time in almost 5 years for us to all three get together without it being for some big event, like a wedding, baby shower, and such. It was great just getting to hang out. What made the trip more awesome! My best friend, Kendall, and I are both pregnant. We're about 6 weeks apart!! My other best friend and college roomie, Jenny, had a little boy in November. We got to to meet baby Finn for the first time, which was just too special. He's 3 months old and the cutest little boy ever.

We spent the weekend doing what girls do best, shopping. It was cute, each of us were buying gifts for each other kids. I can't believe I said each other's kids....we have really grown up and a lot has changed. We all three now live in separate states, but it was great to see that our bond hasn't changed.

A special part about the weekend was helping Kendall pick out bedding for her little girls nursery. It is too adorable and so Kendall which I love. Jenny has so much better style than me, so I'm she was there to give her thoughts...I am so not a decorator.  Even though I'm not a decorator it was just great knowing we were all apart of it.

The most fun part of our time together was the ultrasounds we went and got at this cute pregnancy spa in Dallas. There was nothing more fun that watching our little girls wiggling around on the screen. Finn loved seeing his little girlfriends. He started making all kinds of noises when they were moving around alot. Something good that came from the ultrasound is that the tech confirmed for me that we were indeed expecting a girl. I had already knew it was a girl, but it was great to hear it again!!!

I can't wait to meet our Grayson Nicole :)

Here is a pick from all of us at the pregnancy spa!!

Jenny, Finn, Me, and Kendall - I love this pic!! :)

The bonus of the weekend was getting to visit with my dad and step sisters. My dad was a little disappointed I didn't bring RIley, but the airline wanted to charge me another $300 for her a ticket. I wish she could have sat in my lap. At the same time I have to admit it was great to have a break...I think it's important for all moms to take sometime for themselves. I did miss my hubby and Riley bug a lot. It was the first time I was away from Riley for more than one night and my first time being away from my hubby in 2 years. It was great to get home. I feel blessed to have such a wonderful growing family and my besties :)

Personal Post: 26 Weeks Prego Post :)

How far along? 26 Weeks

Total weight gain: 16 1/2 lbs. I was shocked I only gained a 1/2 a pound since I had been eating so many sweets. My hubby has been baking up a storm.

Maternity clothes? YES :) I've been in them since about 12 weeks. I started showing alot sooner this time around, which I hear is pretty normal. All my normal jeans just got too tight and my Bellaband didn't last as long.

Stretch marks? Still no stretch marks thank goodness :)

Sleep: I sleep well like every other day. After a night of not getting a good amount of sleep, I tend to sleep pretty good the next. I do find myself tossing and turning quite a bit trying to get comfortable. When I was pregnant with Riley I slept with a body pillow which helped. It might be time to break that out again. My hubby got it out of the garage for me. I slept with my body pillow one night and I still wasn't comfy.

Best moment last week: I got to go visit my best friends from college. One is pregnant like me and the other has a 3 month old we finally got to meet. We also got ultrasounds at this pregnancy spa so we got to see each others little ones on the screen!- So much fun :)

Miss Anything? We're getting excited to upgrade RIley's room to a big girl room since this little one in my belly needs her crib. We went recently and picked RIley the cutest owl bedding and room decor. It's also pastel colors. Hopefully she will love it.

Movement: I mainly feel her moving at night when I roll over to go to sleep. She kicks quite a bit. She has started moving and kicking alot when she is hungry and so she reminds me I need to eat. It's been hard to eat on a schedule during the day since I've been so busy at my full time job, but I love feeling her move!

Food cravings: I heart pineapple. I can seriously eat a can all in one sitting. I love orange/pineapple juice. I've also discovered pineapple coconut ice cream. It is just too yummy :) Still loving my pineapple

Anything making you queasy or sick: The only times I've been getting queasy is in the mornings when my tummy is empty or if I get too hot in the shower

Gender: It's a GIRL

Labor Signs: None yet thankfully

Symptoms: Just tired, but working through it. I'm having some pain my hips, but its just part of it. I know I could something like prenatal yoga, but for those that know me personally you know I'm too lazy for that - lol :)

Belly Button in or out? It's out and has been for quite a while

Wedding rings on or off? Still on. I will be removing them soon. I just know it.

Happy or Moody most of the time: For the most part I'm happy. I find myself frustrated when things get hectic at work, so I have my moody moments. But so does every pregnant woman.

Looking forward to: Our family vacation next month. Hoping to get the nursery started, go home to visit family, and take Riley to the aquarium and zoo that week. Maybe even get some family/maternity pics taken. We will see what all I fit in. I will be 33 weeks around that time, so I'm hoping we can fit it all in.

If you are pregnant and blogging, how are you documenting your pregnancy??

Guest Post: "Unexpected Joy" by Rachel of Jazz It Up By Rachel

Hi ladies!
It is always hard to know where to begin with guest posts so
I figured I’d start by introducing myself. My name is Rachel and I am 27 years
old. I’ve been married to the love of my life for almost 5 years. I work as a
stylist at a local boutique and also have my own women’s accessory line. My
journey to becoming a mommy is downright crazy so hold onto your hats!

It all started a few months after we got married. We decided
to try having our first baby. This was not the fun and exciting experience we
thought it would be as I struggled to get pregnant. We sought the help of a
doctor and I went on medication to assist us but still no luck.

Feeling pretty stressed about the whole situation we made
the choice to start the adoption process. Adopting a child is always something
I felt I’d like to do one day and my husband was on board. The adoption process
was not an easy one either. Many highs and lows were experienced along the way.
After waiting for about a year and a half we had dealt emotionally with the possibility
we may not be parents and we were becoming more comfortable with it being just
us.

Then suddenly our world was rocked. One weekend while
visiting my mom I thought I may have breast cancer because my breasts hurt so
horribly and I felt very fatigued. My mom encouraged me to take a pregnancy
test when I got home. I was hesitant because I HATED pregnancy tests, they
always let me down. But I was a good little girl and listened to my mom. The
next morning I took a test and to my complete shock it was positive! I took two
more just to be sure…all of them were positive! It was actually 3 am when I
took the tests so I ran up to our bedroom like a mad women shacking my husband
awake. “Hun, I’m not sure but I think I am pregnant, come down and look at
these tests so I know I’m not going crazy!” My dear hubby hopped out of bed at
that ungodly hour and confirmed that it appeared I WAS pregnant! The doctor
confirmed it on Monday; I was about 3 weeks along.

But the roller coaster ride was far from over. A few days
later we received a call from our social worker. She informed us that a
birth mother picked us for her adoption plan! WOW! We were ecstatic but we weren’t
sure if they would let us go through with it being that I was pregnant. So we
told our social worker our news and she said she would discuss it with her supervisor
and the birth mom. A couple days later she informed us that her supervisor and
the birth mother still felt we would be good parents for this adoption case.

I can honestly say from that point on I have lived in an absolute whirlwind. I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and caring for my 3 month old son, Jason. It is stressful at times that I will admit. But I have a feeling this was exactly what God had planned for us all along. We’ve always wanted two children and now within less than a year we will have them. To think that at one time we were unsure of our ability to even have one child seems surreal. I sometimes have to pinch myself! We have found out that I am having a boy so Jason will have a little brother who is only 8 months younger than him. What a blessing! I know my story isn’t a common one but I do feel that through my experiences I can relate to adoptive mommies and mommies who are trying to conceive. I want anyone who is reading this to know that I am always here to answer questions or give advice! Don’t be afraid to stop by my blog or drop me a line. I am a very friendly gal and I love meeting new people! Now that I have introduced myself to you I hope that you will introduce yourselves to me. Have a fabulous day!
